1. UGC Minor Research Project 2009-2011
The
UGC approved and sanctioned Rs. 50,000/- for Minor Research Project to
Dr.R.Sivakumar, Senior Lecturer in Political science and Principal Investigator
to undertake a Minor Research Project entitled “ Women Empowerment through Self Help Groups in Tamil Nadu - A Case
Study of Namakkal District” for the year 2007-2009. The Final Report of the
Project was submitted to the UGC in July, 2009.

Sponsored Certificate Course on “HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION” 2011-2016
University Grants Commission Sponsored a
three months Certificate course on “Human Rights Education” is being conducted
by the Department of Political Science at Thiruvalluvar Govt. Arts College,
Rasipuram and approved by the Periyar University . The Certificate course
started on 12th August, 2011.
DR.K.MUTHUCHELIAN Ph.D.,D.Sc.,FNABS.,FIEF., Vice- Chancellor, the Periyar
University, Salem inaugurated the Certificate Course. M.B.CHANDRASEKARAN, the Principal, Thiruvalluvar Govt. Arts College, Rasipuram presided over the
function. Prof. K.Balakrishnan, an Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of Political Science welcomed
the Gathering. Dr.R.Sivakumar, Asst. Prof. of Political Science & Co-Ordinator offered the vote of
thanks.
